One of the first things I shoot at a wedding are the Bridal details. It gets my creative juices flowin’ and it sets the tone for the day! Greta’s dad was so excited about the day! As I set up a little workspace in the dining room he was telling me the cool stories about all of the antiques surrounding us. Like how the very dining table that Greta’s shoes are on survived the Chicago fire by being buried in the ground. — I’m telling you, some seriously cool stories! As I gathered the rings and was looking around the room for something to place them with, Steve said, “I have an idea for those.” Rarely do I ever encounter a dad as interested in the girly details, so I of course was loving his input! He then handed my a tiny little nest with 2 birds on it. He told me that he had always referred to his two daughters as his ‘little birds’. How perfect?! Steve’s stories added such sentimental value to simple detail photos.
Greta’s dress was a gorgeous Hayley Paige ball gown! I loved the intricate detail on the bodice. š
Greta’s earrings were beautiful white Kendra Scott pendants. Her perfectly timeless makeup is by Sarah Abby.
First Looks with dads are so special!! I might be a little biased because Steve was so darn helpful to me that morning.
Oh my word. Was it windy up on this overlook. It was oddly fitting for Greta and Michael though; when we shot their engagement photos this Spring we experienced some gale force winds out of no where! Greta even joked that we’ll have to put some of these windy pictures next to the crazy windy ones she has from their engagement session. She was such a trooper and not even remotely phased. Greta was absolutely glowing all day long.
The mismatched neutral bridesmaids dresses looked so great with Greta’s bold floral choice!
I couldn’t help myself! These little ones went rogue and boycotted the group formal!!
I loved this black and white at The Nelson. So gorgeously classy!
The Guild is such a fun urban venue that mixes industrial and elegant vibes!
I think their faces walking up the aisle say it all! Wedded Bliss.
Confetti Events did such a great job making sure that all of the ceremony details were perfect!
This statement chandelier made for some gorgeous first dance images!
You know your clients are awesome when they tell you about the surprises they have in store for their guests and that they include Slugger delivering their funnel cake wedding cake that was made by the Funnel Cake Truck they arranged to have parked outside of the venue!! Craziness!
I got to go inside the Funnel Cake Truck to snag these awesome pics of Greta and Michael!
We had to sneak a few shots in theĀ gardenĀ before the night ended!
Greta and Michael, you two were so much fun to work with! Your wedding was full of so many personal details! Thank you for allowing me to capture your day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness, and I can’t wait to hear about the adventures that marriage has in store for you!
