Luke and Dannie chose to shoot their sunset field engagement session on Dannie’s family farm. This space and the memories shared on the property only added to the specialness of our time together, where they had a chance to pause from the craziness of wedding planning and simply enjoy the ‘now’ together; to soak up the precious emotions that go along with being engaged to the love of your life – not to mention your High School Sweetheart and all-time best friend.
Lucky for me, this wasn’t my first time haning out with these gems. Back in April, Luke asked me to document the moments surrounding the most precious phrase he would ever utter: ‘Will you marry me?’ If you missed the photographs of their proposal check them out here. If you’re up to speed on their love story, scroll on, my friend.
Although they met in high school, Luke and Dannie attended separate universities about 4 hours apart. The distance didn’t stop them, and if you ask them, they’ll tell you they believe the space strengthened their relationship. To close the gap, the two would write long emails and even snail mail letters to each other. They thought it would be special to write a note for each other to read during their session with me. I’m not sure what Dannie told Luke in hers, but his face is priceless!!
Luke and Dannie,
Thank you for an awesome evening and some killer golden hour light — you guys are so darn lucky with that! I vote we roll 3-0 for the big day in July. Can’t even wait!
