I shot Jess and Chris’ engagement photos in Weston, MO because it’s a perfect mix of rustic charm and natural settings! We planned their Weston Engagement session at the start of spring, and lucked out on a perfect day! The trees were budding, sun shining, and there was hardly any wind! (Hard to believe considering the windy days we’ve had as of late!)
On a random weekend Chris somehow convinced Jess that he needed to stop by their old High School to run an errand. She thought that was a little odd but decided to ride along. Jess nearly stayed in the car while Chris ran inside, but somehow he convinced her to walk through the old halls and reminisce. Without Jess noticing, Chris lead her to the very classroom where they first met, got down on one knee, and promised his future to her. These two are oh so sweet and their engagement has been a long time coming!
How ironic is it that our first stop happened to feature the beautiful white blossoming Bradford Pear Trees and Jess’s stunning engagement ring features a pear shape or teardrop diamond?! I thought it was perfect! I loved how the pear tree’s blossoms added such a romantic feel, especially with the setting sun shining through them!
I love the quaint feel of small towns. Even as we were shooting we commented to each other about how you could feel the calming effect of the slower pace small towns have to offer. It made our shooting together that much more enjoyable, not to mention providing some gorgeous texture for our shoot!
You can’t shoot in Weston and not incorporate a barn somehow! I’m not sure whose this is, but it’s right off of the road, perfectly untouched, and really made for some great black and whites!
Jess and Chris will be married at 1890 event space in September and I can’t wait to shoot with them! 1890 is a new event space in the Northland and I’m excited to see all that it has to offer. They just added a new reception building to their property to accompany the historic Victorian home that’s already there, so it will make for a fantastic Wedding Venue setting!
Thinking about shooting with me in Weston? Check out these shoots that I’ve also shot there:
