With mutual best friends, you’d think the chemistry meter between two people would be through the rough, wouldn’t you? Well you’d be correct in that assumption. 😉 These two met through their best friends, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their connection. Fast forward 5 years, and let me tell you about how Chris popped the question.
If you know Kelsea, you know that sports are a massive part of her life. The entire reason they moved to KC (they’re Kentucky natives) is because she landed her dream job at Populous, one of the most renowned sports architecture firms. The Saint Louis Cardinals are Kelsea’s all time favorite sports team. She’s a die-hard fan, and she and Chris have a tradition of making an annual trip to Busch Stadium each Summer. So here we go — Chris was planning their ‘not-so-typical’ annual trip, A.K.A. epic proposal, right under Kelsea’s nose, and she was none the wiser. Chris planned a stadium tour bright and early. Unfortunately, Kelsea is far from a morning person. She was kind of dragging her feat, and a little bit unenthused because they’d already done the tour a few times before. She wasn’t exactly excited but Chris was super into it, so she obliged. They arrived to the stadium, and Kelsea (the Cardinals expert) found it a little odd that they weren’t going through the usual tour stops, and instead were headed straight to the field. Chris and the tour guide made something up about why they were allowed to go out onto the field, which — if you’re a sporting novice — is typically taboo. They walked out to home plate and Kelsea was confused, because it was not normal. All of the sudden, she looked back at Chris, and he was down on one knee, pouring his heart out to her, in her most favorite place in the world. IT GETS BETTER. Chris coordinated with both of their families who live scattered across the country, and they were ALL hiding in the dugouts the entire time… Once Kelsea managed to formulate the word yes, they all rushed out to congratulate the two on their engagement!
OK. So would you like to see what two people who are that in tune with each other look like when they’re in love? Me too.
Let me just say this:
I normally shoot engagements for about two hours. The images bellow represent only about the last 40 minutes of our time together… That’s how many awesome moments we snagged! Heart Eyes x 1,000.
