Sean and Jamie were married at the beautiful Elms Hotel & Spa in Excelsior Springs, MO. Let’s just say the venue wasn’t the only beautiful aspect of this day. These people have beautiful hearts!! Not only do Sean and Jamie have deep love and respect for each other, but their entire day was full of thoughtful and loving moments with their loved ones as they celebrated the joining of two families. It’s always lovely to feast your eyes on a little bling, but as I photograph these I always think about the uniqueness and that these two individuals took special time and care to pick a design that each would wear for the rest of their lives.
I snuck this shot along with the rings as the bride was getting ready at the beginning of the day.
The Father of the Bride had his daughter’s dress hanging from the ceiling in a utility room. It wasn’t quite the typical location to find the dress, but I loved how it seemed to float in the darkness.
Brother helping brother. Just the beginning of some of the sweet family moments from this day.
The Bride’s dress is a Justin Alexander from The Gown Gallery.
Jamie’s cousin did a beautiful job on her wedding day makeup.
Jamie’s mom and Matron of Honor battling with the many buttons on the back of Jamie’s dress.
I love when Bride’s get ready at a place that holds meaning to them. This was at her parents’ home.
These handsome guys were quite a fun-loving bunch!
This took place in the basement of the church, just a few minutes before the ceremony.
There is certainly something to be said for waiting to see each other until the ceremony.
What a moment for a Father.
Moments like these make me grateful for my job. It might not seem significant, but without these photos, Jamie would never see the reactions of her family, as she promised her life to Sean.
These smokin’ hott ladies can be just as goofy as the guys. 🙂 (see below)
Is there a better way to capture a crazy group? doubtful.
MMMmmmm love couples portraits that fall in the exact perfect time slot to use that warm, setting sun. Most of the time, when I shoot couples, I don’t tell them EXACTLY what to do. I get them situated, tell them to chat with each other, and then I wait. There is something so rich and personal about genuine emotion.
The ambiance in the ballroom at The Elms was out of control. It was so warm, elegant, and dreamy.
Emotions ran the gamut during the Father of the Bride’s Speech. It was witty, sweet, and extremely heart felt.
The Bride’s father gave credit to grandparents on both sides of the family for contributing to the exceptional character of Jamie and Sean.
He embarrassed his daughter a little bit too! 😉
Jamie’s Godparents gave a toast and wrote a special prayer for the Newlyweds.Sean and Jamie danced to ‘Oceans’ by Hillside.
The First Dances make for some pretty special memories.
Jamie’s Uncles recruited the guests to help them serenade the Bride and Groom.
Jamie and Sean, thank you for allowing me the complete honor of documenting your day. It was jam-packed with love, and I was delighted to capture it for you!
