Golden Hour Indie Wedding Portraits

Let me tell you a little story about Nicole and Scott. They’re not by the book, and it is beyond refreshing. i.e. upon their engagement, the two quickly began planning their wedding. They set a date and arranged caterers, venues, the whole bit. About a month after their engagement, they also planned to have a housewarming party; that’s when the brilliant idea dawned on Nicole. Instead of planning a wedding full of ‘shoulds’ she and Scott conspired to surprise all of their friends and family by having a surprise wedding at their house warming party! All of their friends gathered in the backyard to listen to a band. The band began with a slow Lord Huron song and thus, the processional. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to be witness to such a special evening, but considering they spent the evening night their friends and family, Nicole asked if I would shoot their wedding portraits. Few things are more flattering than being asked to photograph something as special by a fellow photographer. Nicole, Scott, and I had a blast shooting together in the park where they shared their first kiss. 🙂

**We should also mention that Nicole’s new sleeve (the one on her right arm with all of the flowers) is a new addition, and an ode to their marriage. All the heart eyes.
