Fun Ways to Personalize Your Wedding

One of the coolest things about planning a wedding is that you have complete control over every aspect of an entire day. It might sounds daunting, but it’s such an opportunity! There are so many ways you can add personal touches throughout a wedding day. I’ve compiled some of my favorite ideas that not only make for a unique twist to any wedding day, but they also add to your guests’s experience! Check out my roundup below.

1. Photo Booth

100% biased here, but I LOVE a good photo booth. A simple setup like Picwood, or DJ Alex Reed’s photo booth are beautiful simple additions to any space, but if you have outside access, I highly recommend checking out The Traveling Photo Trailer or The PhotoBus KC (these guys are in many cities around the US)! It’s so fun to actually occupy a photo booth, not to mention the souvenirs are unmatched.

2. Cultural Touches

Okay as beautiful as this is, it might not be for everyone – But –  if there’s ever been a special treatment or tradition that you normally wouldn’t be able to justify, this is the perfect time to splurge! Go get ’em, tiger! You’ll never regret making your wedding personalized and extra special.

3. Accessorize, Accessorize

Lets not forget about the boys! Socks are a fun way to spruce up the grooms side of the bridal party that are ready to be shown off at a moments notice. Other fun ideas for the guys: patterned bowties, custom undershirts, suspenders, and custom suits.

4. Food, Dude

Two words. Food Trucks. *Insert Heart Eye Emoji here* The options are truly limitless. Taco trucks, funnel cake trucks, coffee trucks, oooo margarita trucks…. the thing with the trucks > There are several small businesses that provide these adorable boutique services but even if your fave restaurant doesn’t have a food truck, it doesn’t mean you couldn’t stage and style a cart, table, or pop up tiki hut to make your wish a dream come true. Just sayin’.

5. Send Me Your Location

Whether it’s the beach, the middle of a field, or  lakeside in a mountain range, picking a place that makes you the happiest is the perfect place for your wedding! Guests will love the adventure, and it will feel so much more intimate and true to your soul. P.S. Destination weddings are often more affordable than local weddings. < That includes travel expenses. Thank me later.

6. Place Settings

Something so simple can so easily be turned into a fun party favor for your guests to share something with them that you love! I love that these place cards really set the tone for the guests and play off of the Mexico destination theme. Other cute place setting favors I’ve seen include mini succulents, compacted wildflower seeds in an ornament shape, party animal place card holders, the list goes on!

7. Sweet Stuff

Everyone loves desserts but this is a great way to personalize your wedding. A grooms cake is a great way to show something you love in a fun yet not over the top way. It’s also a cool way to incorporate a special treat from childhood, nod to a secret family recipe, or just something random you love and want to snack on on the best day ever!

8. Shoes

Who says wedding shoes can’t be a crazy pop of random color or pattern? This is a fun way to show off a side of your personality. From heels to converse, go with what best suits you!

9. Bridal Gown

Okay this might seem obvious, but having a dress you love and feel your best in is the best way to showcase your personality and really sets the tone for the other elements of the day!

10. Bridal Party

As fun as all the details are, it’s most important to be surrounded by the people in your tribe! Family and friends alike, the people who stand next to you and support you on your big day play a huge role in how you personalize your wedding, because duh, they’re irreplaceable. Their wardrobes are also a fun way to spice up the vibe… and your photos!
