Daniel + Mary

These two celebrated with their family and friends with a ceremony at St. Therese Catholic Church and a Hilton KCI wedding reception! Their day was so special for me to capture. We all go to St. Therese, which is a fairly big church in the Northland. Daniel and I were in the same class in elementary school, and Mary, a year below us, and all sit in the same section at the same mass time on Sundays. We may not get a chance to chat every week, but seeing their relationship grow over the years, and just being in mass together with our families each week made for an extremely special wedding for me to be a part of. Even my grandma would continually ask me – is it ‘that cute couple from church’ this weekend?! I can’t wait to see their pictures! — Long story short, these two are near and dear and I had an amazing time with their awesome families! 🙂

Disclaimer: I included way more portraits than normal, but I’m not apologizing because Daniel and Mary and their ‘framily’ are too dang good lookin’ and way too fun not to do so…

The Hilton KCI Wedding Reception SO. This was honestly the best MOH speech… EVER. It must run in the family because both Mary’s dad and sister had this incredible way of making their message heartfelt all while keeping the room roaring with laughter. Mary’s dad recalled first noticing Daniel as an athlete and being charmed by his ‘confidence’. Sarah, Mary’s sister and maid of honor gave both a speech and sang… yes SANG. She made new lyrics for Train’s ‘Hey Soul Sister’, changing it to ‘Hey, Big Sister’. If you don’t know Sarah, you can spot her in the dance pictures below in a second — she’s larger than life and oh so sweet. And while she had the room crying laughing with her puns and funny delivery, half of the tears were from how heartfelt her new lyrics were. I think the look on Mary’s parent’s faces while Sarah spoke sums it up pretty nicely. Their daughters have a bond like any other, and Daniel fits into their dynamic like a glove. As one of three girls myself, I know the intense testing that any sister’s suitor must endure.

Who doesn’t love the shoe game?! I love it when the couple disagrees… all in good fun, of course!

The Party

Oh yes, the party… these people know what’s up! The dance floor was absolutely packed. No apathetic toe-tappers in the back corner at this wedding. Shesh they can ALL dance, and they know it! Best dance floor ever!
Daniel and Mary, I am so honored to have been able to capture your special day and am so thankful you chose me! You are an incredible couple and I had a blast with you and your families!
