Somehow, by the grace of our Lord, we pulled off SUNRISE Engagement Photos. If you know me at all, you know this is a feat, but the session and resulting photos for Kelsey and Adam are kind of a dream come true. Every location was personal and unique, and I couldn’t have dreamt it any better! Kelsey and Adam met while working at KU med together. They’re adorable, fun, and quite possible the most down to earth, up for anything couple you’ll find.
The sunflower field is majestic. There’s just no arguing that. I won’t lie to you, as tranquil and peaceful as these photos look, I had to photoshop some strangers out of the background. Especially for this being stop one, AND the location we arrived to in the dark before the sun rose, Adam and Kelsey were troopers! Adam even carried my ladder into the field… yes, I brought a ladder. 😉 Check out the magic we captured, especially after the sun finally broke through the clouds on this overcast September morning!
Considering they met at KU hospital, it’s Adam’s Alma Mater, and his family is from just outside of Lawrence, it seemed silly not to capitalize on the opportunity to snag a few shots on our way from Grinter Farms to our last stop!
I’ll admit, after 20 minutes of zig-zagging through the back roads of a town outside of Lawrence, I didn’t know what to expect…. whelp what these two crazies lead me to was better than I could have hoped for. This is Adam’s Grandpa’s old farm. It’s full of amazing space, texture, and most importantly: sentimental value. This is the place Adam asked Kelsey to be his wife and take on life’s adventures by his side. The peace and stillness I experienced in this place made it all the more evident why Adam would choose to propose here, and why they had wanted pictures here. It is truly magical.
Kelsey and Adam,
I had so much fun hanging out with the two of you! It was so special to accompany you (and your sweet fur babies) to an amazing place that has such an important spot in your hearts. Thank you for welcoming me into the folds and for letting loose and being your true selves! 😉 I can’t wait for your Wedding at Mildale Farms in April!!
